The Polaris F9550 Sport Robotic In-Ground Pool Cleaner includes some robotic features that most people will find handy. It has great sensor technology, which allows it to clean your pool evenly, and a seven-day programmable timer with a handheld remote. Its Aqua-Trax tires have superior grip relative to many of the models on our list. Plus, it has a great vacuum and does a good job sweeping up dirt and larger objects like leaves.
However, this model struggles with walls. In some pools, it has no problems. In others, it will never clean the walls. If it were more consistent in this category, it could rise higher on our list. What really hurts this model’s value, however, is its price. It’s one of the most expensive cleaners on our list, but it sometimes fails to deliver good results. For the price, you should expect more. It sometimes works very well, and other times it falls flat, making it a risky buy.

Sometimes, the little nasty things that create a cloudy pool are just too small for your filter to capture. They pass through the filter’s medium and head right back into the water. Pool clarifier contains polymers that act as coagulants on these tiny particles. When you add clarifier to cloudy water, all those tiny particles clump together into bigger particles your filter can capture and keep from reentering the pool.
