Although the SmartKleen automatic pool cleaner has a very compact design, it surely is tough. It handles wear and tear well even with full seasons of regular and heavy use. Its motor is also quite hardy and does not lose efficiency even after a long time of use. We think it’s the combination of the two-hour auto shut-off feature and the high-grade materials that are doing that. In terms of performance, there is not much to complain about. The SmartKleen does not promise to do everything, but it does what it can very well. Although this machine can go up your pool wall a couple of inches, it is optimized to clean floors. The SmartKleen does a great job of scrubbing and vacuuming fiberglass, vinyl liners, and concrete surfaces. This pool cleaner has an innovative feature aptly called Intelligent Navigation. It allows the SmartKleen to change direction by itself. This is highly convenient and may be the reason why Smartpool decided to do away with a remote. It does make sense, but we think having a remote control is still ideal. Our Conclusion: To sum it all up, we like the SmartKleen because although it does have its limitations, it delivers on its promises well. It is convenient and easy to use. The SmartKleen is good unless you specifically need an automatic cleaner that can do your pool steps and walls.
